about

C Mantle and Portland's Badrich (aka Technicolor Yawn/Jason Goodrich) do not make comfortable music. The duo present a five-track EP of fully awkward IDM, calling into play both their broad production experience and diverse musical interests. Borne of a lengthy transatlantic collaboration, '7.407.02' has been over two years in the making and is a product of a shared love of the inner forensic depths of 'idm', suffused with the hallmarks of other genre. The EP burrows deep into the chasm, sounding like a harbinger of things gone wrong and the stuttering sounds, the faltering rhythms, compulsively usher us towards an irresistable collapse. Beguiling hints of melody and groove, ambience and mechanistic industrialism underpin the stottering beats and keep the listener rooted across the five tracks as Mantle and Goodrich move from the 'hop infused glitch of 1.0 to the Coil-esque ambience of closer 3.0.
